The system offers several types of time extensions that can be granted to examinees. This guide will detail the types of extensions and how to add them.
Types of Time Extensions
There are two main types of time extensions:
Built-in Time Extension (%): This is an accommodation-based time extension an examinee is entitled to. This data is automatically synced from the institution's information systems.
Manual Time Extension (in minutes): This is a time extension given by an authorized user (such as an exam administrator or proctor) during the exam. It can be granted to a specific examinee or to all examinees.
Viewing and Granting Time Extensions
Time extensions are managed via the Exam Monitor.
1. Time Extension for a Specific Examinee
To grant or edit a time extension for an individual examinee, follow these steps:
In the Exam Monitor, go to the "Participants" tab.
Locate the desired examinee. In the columns, you will see the following data:
Percentage Time Extension Accommodation (%): Displays the built-in extension the examinee is entitled to (see the additional note at the end of the guide).
Time Extension: Displays the manual time extension (in minutes) that has already been given, if any.
To add or edit time, hover over the examinee's cell in the "Time Extension" column and click the pencil icon ✏️ that appears.
In the window that opens, enter the number of minutes you wish to add.
At the bottom of the window, you will see the examinee's updated end time after the extension.
2. General Time Extension for All Examinees
To grant a uniform time extension to all exam participants:
In the Exam Monitor, go to the "Exam Information" tab.
Under the "Settings" heading, locate the "Exam Extra Time" field.
Click the pencil icon ✏️, enter the number of minutes to add, and confirm.
